Sie werden verließen das Amerkanisches Markt?

This is great article, especially from his perspective as a VW fan.

So dumm ist VW auch wieder nicht.
![]() 03/22/2016 at 17:51 |

When will Volkswagen learn though?
![]() 03/22/2016 at 17:57 |

I think all signs point to they probably won’t. And as someone that has had a few, both reliable and piles of piss and shit, I won’t miss them if they don’t. There will be enough used GTIs around if I ever want to take that risk.

![]() 03/22/2016 at 18:25 |

They should just start offering Euro market cars dammit! Volkswagen is good at procrastinating. They certainly got great class leading products in Europe that they could federalize.
![]() 03/22/2016 at 18:33 |

Should have done it years ago. Now nobody would care.
![]() 03/22/2016 at 20:25 |

![]() 03/23/2016 at 03:16 |

![]() 03/23/2016 at 03:23 |

VW is fucked either way in the US. Leaving the US market would cost a ton of money but actually offering some good cars and building a neutral image on the other hand is even harder.

no loss.

It’s death was overdue.
![]() 03/23/2016 at 07:30 |

Stimmt.
Also, I'll just say it in English because it's easier, but VW has essentially ruined its reputation for boutique automobiles.
![]() 03/23/2016 at 07:45 |
|
And instead of actually offer cars that the US market demands they sell the same ol’ shit. The gaps in their lineup are scandalous:
-no small CUV
-the new Tiguan is overdue
-the Jetta and Passat suck
-no 3 row SUV
-no Polo (First and Sonic size VW)
Kinda weak for an automaker who wants to be no. 1 imo.
![]() 03/23/2016 at 11:55 |
|
Yep. If they’d kept their boutique reputation, they’d be able to bring the B8, new Tiguan, CrossPolo, and Polo and be able to sell them for a premium. Plus, cars like the Scirocco would certainly form a niche and sell.
![]() 03/23/2016 at 12:02 |
|
Realistically, the Scirocco probably won’t see a second gen plus the Tiguan is on its way to your shores. But dumbing down their cars for the US is such a dumbass move if you’d ask me. They should make small steps first.
![]() 03/23/2016 at 14:53 |
|
Ah, true. Point is, what made them special is now nonexistent in the US. The Passat is basically now a German Camry.

Too bad. But I don’t really feel sorry for them.
